Motherboard
The motherboard is the most important and main circuit board of a computer. It contains the most vital components of the computer system. The base of the motherboard gets its name from the fact that the board is the mother of all components. The motherboard is a single platform, where all parts of a computer are connected ,enabling them to communicate with each other.
The motherboard is fitted inside the cabinet of the system unit. It connects the various parts of the computer; CPU hard drives, memory, video card, sound card, optical drives and other expansion cards directly or with the help of cables. The functioning of the motherboard may be compared to that of a bus terminal, meaning a junction of all devices. All activities pertaining to the devices that are connected through the motherboard begin and end within the motherboard.
